My role - Product designer

My responsibilities
User Research, UX Writing, Wireframing, Prototyping,
Usability testing

The problem

The lack of a unified platform to book appointments online while accessing vital information like immunization schedules and child development milestones.

The Goal

Create a user-friendly website that streamlines appointment booking while providing easy access to immunization schedules and child milestone tracking.

UX Research

A mixed-methods approach, including interviews with five participants to understand their needs, challenges, and expectations for a pediatric clinic’s online platform.

Target Audience

Existing patients seeking a more convenient way to manage appointments and new patients looking for trusted pediatric care with easy online access to essential services.

Accessibility Considerations

Project Takeaways

Understanding the problem and audience deeply before designing solutions is crucial. Do not assume the needs of users.

A user-centered approach does ensure that the final product effectively addresses real needs and enhances the overall experience!

  1. Implemented high color contrast to enhance text readability, aligning with WCAG guidelines.

  2. Used clear and simple language to ensure easy comprehension for all users.

  3. Enabled keyboard navigation for a more inclusive browsing experience.

Going Forward

Continuous refinement and inclusive design will be vital to further improve the website’s user experience. The product should also be future proof for changing consumer needs of different parent generations. I’ll be in constant touch with the client to monitor the usability.

“People ignore design that ignores people.”
